Performance economy fuels all-round tourism consumption growth across Linyi

Linyi's immersive live shows, concerts and rural theatrical performances have developed into a booming performance-driven economy. In the 2025 May Day holiday alone, the city received over 8 million tourists with nearly half coming from other cities; major live shows at Langya Ancient City, Hongsao Hometown and Linyi Olympic Sports Center greatly boosted catering, accommodation, transportation and retail consumption.

The city forms a full-scene performance layout covering urban grand concerts, scenic immersive dramas and rural red operas. Large-scale shows like The Defender of the Nation and Retrace Frontline Support Routes lengthen tourists’ staying time and lift secondary consumption per visitor above 200 yuan. The 2025 Dao Lang concert alone generated 460 million yuan comprehensive consumption, driving hotel occupancy rates to full capacity across surrounding counties. Supported by venues and policy incentives, Linyi hosted 57 high-end theatrical performances and 2 large music events in the first half of 2025.

Performance economy acts as a powerful engine activating cultural tourism and urban consumption. Linyi will enrich high-quality live performance supply, deepen the integration of performance, culture and tourism, and build a renowned "City of Performances" to strengthen urban cultural soft power.
