Mengyin hosts road cycling finals of Shandong Provincial Games

The men's and women's road cycling finals of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games kicked off in Mengyin County on June 19. A total of 146 athletes from 11 prefecture-level cities compete in 16 events over five competition days, with a 29-member delegation dispatched by Linyi to take part in all categories.

The 14.09-kilometer circular track encircling Mengshan Mountain integrates ecological scenery and professional competition standards. Relevant authorities completed comprehensive pavement renovation, safety guardrail upgrading and full-range environmental remediation before the event. More than 100 volunteers deliver all-round supporting services such as on-site guidance, material supply and emergency rescue. Local athlete Guo Zihan claimed the gold medal in women's junior individual time trial.

Mengyin integrates high-standard provincial sports events with local eco-tourism resources. Linyi will continue to undertake high-level provincial sports competitions, upgrade scenic sports venues and realize integrated, coordinated growth of sports and cultural tourism industries.
