Lanling town inherits Xunzi culture to foster civilized rural customs

Traditional rural bad customs such as costly betrothal gifts and lavish funerals once burdened villagers in Lanling Town. Rooted in the hometown of Xunzi, the town taps the essence of his rituals and law philosophy to integrate ancient Confucian thought into grassroots civilization construction.

The town hung family precepts featuring Xunzi quotes on village walls and built cultural parks with moral-themed murals. Over 100 warm senior canteens operate under multi-party funding, offering cheap hot meals for empty-nest elders. All 114 villages revised village regulations guided by Xunzi's "valuing rituals and abiding by laws"; specialized mediation rooms cut neighborhood disputes sharply, with average wedding and funeral expenses falling by 65%.
