Traditional theoretical lectures struggled to resonate with rural residents, while Donggaozhuang Village — birthplace of the classic revolutionary song Follow the Communist Party — innovates a culture dissemination model integrating red stories and mass folk art.
The village established a farmers’art cooperative with over 30 registered senior performers aged 50 to 81. They compile party policies and Yimeng red legends into allegro, fiddle operas and stage shows, staging 230+ immersive performances since May 2025 and receiving 47,000 study tourists. The village revised village rules advocating zero betrothal gifts and annual filial piety month, set up morality evaluation committees with civilized point rewards, and built shared homestay workshops for women's handmade handicrafts. Eighty-five years after the song's creation, harmonious customs and thriving red tourism take root in the mountain village.
Combining red genes with civilized rural governance delivers sustainable vitality. Linyi will promote the "folk art+theoretical publicity" mechanism across red villages to carry forward the Yimeng Spirit.
