Linyi faces bottlenecks including insufficient high-end engineering talent and disconnected university-industry cooperation amid its pursuit of a trillion-yuan regional GDP. Linyi Institute of Technology, Shandong's only newly built undergraduate university in five years, fills the local talent gap.
Rooted in Yimeng red culture, the university integrates ideological education with engineering training, setting majors matching Linyi’s 13 core industrial chains. It implements the model of "laboratories inside enterprises, classrooms in workshops" to link education, talent, innovation and industrial chains seamlessly. The school deepens school-enterprise cooperation with local manufacturing, logistics and agrochemical firms to cultivate retained local technical talents and inject sustained technological momentum into urban industrial upgrading.
New undergraduate colleges serve as core talent reservoirs for regional high-quality development. Linyi will deepen industry-education integration construction and leverage university resources to advance its goal of building a sub-central city in Shandong.
