Yimeng Global Geopark prepares for UNESCO revalidation mission

UNESCO conducts four-yearly revalidation for all Global Geoparks to supervise site protection and operation quality. Yimeng Global Geopark completes comprehensive upgrading to welcome official evaluators on June 26.

Local authorities upgraded geological signage, popular science exhibition halls and supporting transportation networks, fully sorting geological relic protection archives, study tour cooperation materials and international exchange records. The park strengthens links with the Global Geopark Network and standardizes daily management systems covering site patrol, environmental protection and popular science education. All pre-evaluation rectification items have been fully finished to maintain its UNESCO Global Geopark title.

World-class geological resources serve a core engine for Linyi's ecological cultural tourism. The city will sustain standardized park management and leverage the global brand to boost regional green development.
