Lakeside flower gardens create relaxing new leisure scenes at Linyi Olympic Sports Park

Traditional large-scale sports venues in Linyi used to focus merely on competitive events, lacking integrated ecological leisure spaces for residents’daily outdoor recreation. As the core competition venue of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games, Linyi Olympic Sports Park carried out comprehensive landscape upgrading along the Liuzhu River waterfront, breaking the single sports-only positioning and building an all-age complex integrating sports fitness, natural scenery and urban public vitality.

Centered on Yuquan Lake, the park constructed vast themed flower belts, open camping lawns and winding lakeside walkways equipped with sunset viewing platforms. Supporting facilities including children's amusement zones, waterfront pavilions, outdoor catering blocks and weekend cultural markets form a complete leisure system open to citizens free of charge all year round. On workdays, around 3,000 local residents come for flower appreciation and casual strolls, while weekend visitor volume exceeds 5,000. Tourists can enjoy flower landscapes and meanwhile access standard stadium tracks, indoor swimming pools and cultural exhibition halls, realizing one-stop experiences of sightseeing, fitness and cultural appreciation.

The integration of waterfront flower scenery and professional sports venues enriches Linyi's public urban leisure supply. The city will continue optimizing ecological landscapes around major sports complexes, advance the construction of livable park city and provide accessible natural leisure spaces for all residents.
