6th Shandong Senior Citizens’Sports Games closes in Linyi

The closing ceremony of the 6th Shandong Provincial Senior Citizens’Sports Games took place at Linyi Staff Grand Theatre on the evening of July 1. Song Yuanfang, Chairman of Shandong Senior Sports Association, announced the official closure of the games.

More than 3,500 elderly athletes from across Shandong competed and exchanged sports skills during the event. All delegations followed the event tenets of participation, health, communication and joy, showcasing the positive, vigorous mental outlook of senior citizens through fair competition.

Provincial and municipal officials attended the ceremony, which featured national anthem performance, award presentations and cultural performances to wrap up the provincial sports gala for seniors. The event enriches elderly public cultural life and promotes fitness culture among all age groups in Shandong.
