Shuilianyu village integrates red culture and featured industries to thrive in Mengyin

Shuilianyu Village in Duozhuang Town, Mengyin County relies on the red heritage of Menglianggu Campaign to integrate cultural inheritance, ecological tourism and characteristic agriculture for comprehensive rural vitalization.

The village inherits the Yimeng Spirit through pancake culture. It built small pancake workshops and cultural and creative product lines, with traditional pancakes featured on national documentary programs. Relying local chestnut forests, the village transforms scattered fruit trees into camping and agri-tourism bases, attracting more than 2,300 tourists in trial operation period and creating over 100,000 yuan tourism revenue. The village's self-organized "Hudagu Band" composed folk instrumental works themed on rural development, having delivered more than 400 free performances nationwide and appeared on mainstream national TV platforms. After comprehensive upgrading, villages in the zone achieve an average collective income growth of 60,000 yuan per year.

The integration of red culture, ecological agriculture and mass culture shapes a sustainable development path for red revolutionary villages in Yimeng mountainous areas.
