Linyi wheelchair basketball team claims top honors at provincial para games

The wheelchair basketball competition of the 12th Shandong Provincial Games for Disabled Persons concluded successfully in Linyi Sports School on July 14, with the host Linyi team winning outstanding awards.

Six city delegations with 86 athletes took part in five days of round-robin matches. Linyi women's wheelchair basketball team claimed the championship, while the men's team took second place. As the first host city of Shandong's comprehensive disabled sports event, Linyi fully upgraded competition venues with complete barrier-free passages, rest areas and supporting facilities to guarantee convenient and safe participation for all disabled athletes. The provincial games include 21 major events and add competitive programs for people with intellectual disabilities for the first time.

The well-organized provincial para sports event showcases the perseverance and positive spirit of disabled athletes. It boosts inclusive sports development and delivers warm care for disabled groups across Shandong Province.
