Greco-Roman wrestling finals kick off at Linshu Gymnasium

The Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling finals of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games opened at Linshu Gymnasium on July 23, gathering 628 elite athletes from all 16 prefecture-level cities across Shandong Province.

The six-day competition sets 60 gold medals covering men's Group A/B freestyle, women's Group A/B freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling events. Linyi delegation sent 62 outstanding young wrestlers to compete for medals in each weight class. The venue completed full upgrades of competition mats, referee equipment and athlete rest zones, and arranged professional medical teams, security staff and event volunteers to guarantee fair and orderly matches. The provincial wrestling tournament serves a key mass sports event that boosts fitness atmosphere across Linyi ahead of full provincial games opening.

Hosting high-standard provincial wrestling events demonstrates Linyi's mature sports operation capacity and enriches the city's mass sports system.
