Junan expands senior high school education resources

Junan County has rolled out targeted projects to expand senior high school enrollment, improve campus facilities and balance educational resources, addressing residents’ concerns over insufficient high school places.

Local authorities conducted a full survey of four public senior high schools to calculate exact enrollment gaps, classroom capacity and faculty shortages. Based on the survey, the county launched differentiated expansion plans following the principle of "one school, one tailored solution".

In 2026, Junan’s four public high schools plan to enroll 6,650 students, a net increase of 340 compared with 2025, lifting the local senior high admission rate to 63.8%. By optimizing campus space and class sizes, the county will add 1,780 new high school seats this year.

The Junan No.1 High School standardization upgrade project is a key livelihood initiative. Its first phase will add 1,000 student dorm beds and a canteen serving 2,400 diners, set to open for the new autumn semester. County cadres hold regular on-site meetings to speed up construction while guaranteeing safety and construction quality.

To match expanded enrollment, Junan will recruit 24 new high school teachers in 2026 to fill subject vacancies. The county also optimizes internal staffing allocation to secure consistent teaching quality.

All high school admission procedures follow unified municipal policies with transparent online volunteer systems, strictly implementing the "score priority, volunteer compliance" rule to guarantee fair enrollment.
