Linyi is building a full-spectrum performing arts tourism ecosystem to turn the whole city into an open-air immersive theater, launching the "Travel With Performing Arts" tourism campaign on July 28 at Langya Ancient City.
The city boasts diverse live performance resources covering ancient culture shows, river light dramas, red immersive episodes and mountain landscape galas. Langya Ancient City hosts over 300 daily folk shows and interactive NPC storylines. Its signature indoor drama Magnificent Langya has staged more than 1,900 sessions with over 4 million visitors, while the equestrian live play recreates ancient historical battles with over 150 performers and real horses.
Along the Yi River, the mobile water curtain show stretches for four kilometers. Red scenic zones such as Yinan Hongsao Homeland offer walking dramas that let visitors experience wartime civilian support, and Mengyin stages panoramic live shows recreating the Menglianggu Battle.
Performing arts have become a core driver of local consumption. During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, Langya Ancient City received 658,000 tourists and generated over 80 million yuan in comprehensive revenue. The city's tourism strategy shifts consumption from single ticket sales to integrated cultural and travel gains.
