Fourth Yihe Night opera show draws full-house audiences amid summer heat

The fourth municipal centralized performance of the Fourth Yihe Night Small Opera Exhibition was staged on the evening of July 31 at Linyi People's Square, drawing packed crowds despite hot summer weather.

Six well-polished original grassroots operas were presented, including Walk Toward the Light, Blossoms on Stone, A False Alarm, Echoes of Green Hills, and Drama Inside and Outside. Among them, Walk Toward the Light combines plot, singing and dancing to deliver a refreshing artistic experience. Echoes of Green Hills adopts a time-travel narrative to revisit revolutionary wartime scenes, helping audiences cherish peaceful life brought by martyrs’ sacrifice.

All seats at the venue were occupied, while many viewers stood along the stage or sat on the ground to watch the shows. Local residents’ enthusiasm for grassroots cultural performances remained undimmed under high temperatures. The municipal performances run until August 1, followed by cross-district touring events to deliver cultural feasts to grassroots communities across Linyi.
