Yishui integrates Yimeng Spirit into campus education
On July 26, all Party teachers from the No.7 Experimental Middle School of Yishui visited the Yimeng Ode Red Culture Exhibition Hall to take part in immersive red education activities. Revolutionary cultural relics, old photos and historical records vividly reproduce the stories of soldiers and civilians standing side by side in arduous wars, helping teachers deeply grasp the core connotation of the Yimeng Spirit: unity between the Party and people, profound military-civilian bond, harmonious coexistence through weal and woe, and solidarity forged in life-or-death struggles. The visit strengthened teachers’original mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country.
As an important birthplace of the Yimeng Spirit, Yishui boasts abundant red resources. The county takes campuses as core education positions and adheres to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Centered on the theme "Pass Down the Yimeng Spirit from Generation to Generation", local schools fully integrate red ideological and political courses into daily teaching, guiding teachers and students to nurture patriotism and shoulder youthful missions.
Zhang Yongsong, a math teacher at Yishui No.1 High School with 26 years of teaching experience, joined the CPC in August 2000. Raised with red stories, he takes revolutionary predecessors as role models and embeds the Yimeng character into classroom instruction. He focuses on differentiated teaching and deep learning theories, cultivating students’perseverance in independent research. Many of his students have won second prizes in national high school mathematics competitions and first prizes at provincial levels.
At Daotuo Central Primary School, the activity "I Tell Yimeng Stories" is regularly held. Students take turns telling touching revolutionary tales including the heroine Chen Ruoke, red sister-in-law Zu Xiulian and the glorious history of Yuntouyu Village, presenting the profound bond between troops and civilians from children's perspectives.
Yishui has built a progressive red education system tailored to students of different ages, organizing red story lectures, thematic stage plays and practical labor activities beyond textbooks. Young people internalize the spirit of hard work and selfless dedication, turning it into motivation to study diligently and overcome difficulties.
Moving forward, Yishui will further enrich themed educational activities, innovate red education carriers, and inspire teachers and students to carry forward the red heritage, injecting lasting spiritual momentum into high-quality development of the old revolutionary county.
