Wheelchair fencing events wrap up at Linyi Sports School

Wheelchair fencing competitions of the 12th Provincial Games for Persons with Disabilities& the 1st Special Olympic Games of Shandong Province concluded successfully at the comprehensive gymnasium of Linyi Sports School on August 4.A total of 52 disabled athletes from four prefecture-level cities including Qingdao, Zibo, Liaocheng and Linyi took part in multiple fencing categories. After intense rounds of competition, 24 gold medals, 24 silver medals and 24 bronze medals were awarded.

Athletes from Linyi Delegation delivered outstanding performances and claimed 5 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals in total. The athletes demonstrated extraordinary perseverance, tenacious competitive spirit and the pursuit of self-breakthrough throughout all matches, fully showcasing the positive mental outlook of disabled sportsmen in Linyi.

The event created a fair, professional competition platform for disabled athletes across Shandong, promoted the development of mass disabled sports, and spread inclusive sports culture to the public.
