The summer public welfare chess classroom series under the "Villages and Towns Chess Promotion Program" successfully wrapped up at Linyi Grand Theater in late August. The two-month long activity opened free chess lessons every Tuesday to Friday, attracting over 200 teenagers from across Linyi to take part in systematic training.

Centered on the philosophy "Cultivate wisdom and morality through chess", the activity takes Linyi Grand Theater, a landmark urban cultural venue, as its main venue. Professional coaches adopted a hybrid teaching mode combining theoretical lectures, real-game matches and post-game reviews. Courses progress step by step from basic chess rules to opening strategies, middle-game tactics and endgame skills, enabling beginners to master complete competitive logic.

Apart from skill training, the event focuses on shaping young people's concentration, logical thinking and frustration resistance. Young chess players competed with peers on the 64-square board, exchanging experience and forming positive social bonds.

Rooted in grassroots public cultural services, the activity fills the gap of summer youth cultural and sports supplies, encouraging teenagers to stay away from electronic screens and engage in offline intellectual sports. It also strengthens communication among families and communities, creating a harmonious cultural atmosphere and enriching Linyi's mass fitness and public cultural undertakings.

Moving forward, Linyi will normalize regular chess popularization courses in theaters, communities and schools to promote the sport among all age groups.
