Linyi women's junior basketball team claims provincial games group championship

The women's junior group basketball final of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games concluded on the evening of August 11 at Linyi Campus of Qingdao University of Technology. Linyi team defeated Zibo team 85 to 63 and won the gold medal, marking the first group event championship claimed by Linyi at this provincial sports gala.

The basketball competition lasted seven days and was held at two venues including Lanshan District Sports Center and Qingdao University of Technology Linyi Campus. A total of 357 athletes from 13 prefecture-level cities across Shandong took part in men's and junior women's basketball events. Linyi dispatched a squad of 28 young athletes for the tournament.

During the title clash, players from both sides delivered intense, competitive performances with tight defense and agile offensive coordination. Linyi athletes maintained stable rhythm throughout four quarters, steadily widening the score gap and securing the final victory.

This breakthrough medal fully demonstrates the steady progress of youth competitive basketball training in Linyi, and highlights the city's comprehensive capacity to host high-standard provincial sports events as the official host of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games.
