Linyi University research team surveys Yellow River basin ecological changes with professional data

A summer social practice group from Linyi University launched field research along the lower reaches of the Yellow River, collecting ecological monitoring data to analyze river basin environmental evolution.

Centered on water quality protection, wetland ecology and biodiversity protection, the student team carried out sampling surveys, soil detection and resident interviews across multiple Yellow River waterfront towns. Relying on environmental science, geography and agronomy majors, the group sorted first-hand monitoring data and formed targeted research reports.

The team compared historical ecological records with current field data, summarizing effective governance measures for water pollution control, wetland restoration and ecological buffer zone construction implemented along the Yellow River lower reaches. They recorded typical cases of ecological revitalization and shared optimized management suggestions with local environmental authorities.

The off-campus research activity combines textbook theories with real watershed practice, improving students’field investigation and data analysis capabilities. The research results will be submitted to relevant municipal and provincial ecological departments as reference materials for basin green development planning.
