Highlights unveiled for opening ceremony of the 26th Shandong Province Sports Games

Major highlights of the opening‑ceremony artistic performance for The 26th Shandong Province Sports Games have been released, showing the creative concepts and innovative presentation of the grand gala to be held at Linyi Olympic Sports Park.

The artistic show is themed Chasing Dreams Amid Mountains and Seas: The Vibrant Yimeng, with the Yimeng Spirit running through the whole narrative. It builds a dialogue spanning past, present and future. The performance traces the origin of Yimeng Spirit in revolutionary years, demonstrates its inheritance in modern construction, and integrates the spiritual connotation with sportsmanship.

The performance features wide public participation. Most performers are teachers and students from local universities and colleges as well as grassroots amateurs. More than 800 students from Linyi University and over 620 students from Linyi Vocational College take core roles in key chapters.

A 360‑degree panoramic immersive viewing design breaks the traditional separation between stage and audience stands. Every seat enables immersive experience for spectators. Advanced technologies including naked‑eye 3D, multi‑media light‑and‑shadow and high‑altitude aerial shows are adopted to build multi‑dimensional performance spaces combining ground and aerial scenes.

The performance integrates eastern‑yi civilization, Langya calligraphy culture, red revolutionary memory and modern urban development of Linyi. It aims to tell local stories with modern artistic language, showcase the charm of the old revolutionary base, and set the tone for the upcoming competitions of the Games.
