Pingyi boosts high‑quality sports development amid the 26th Shandong Province Sports Games

Pingyi County delivered solid performances during The 26th Shandong Province Sports Games. Freestyle BMX, racing BMX and mountain‑biking competitions were successfully completed at local venues, yielding remarkable competition results and witnessing county‑level sports advancement.

Pingyi deepens integration of sports and education, building a complete talent‑selection, training and promotion system for young athletes. It prioritizes events such as BMX breaking and mountain cycling, forming tiered and professional youth training mechanisms.

Local teenage athlete Guo Pu won the women's group A breaking gold medal, the very first gold medal for Linyi delegation at the Games. She has also claimed multiple world‑level competition awards. Meng Yan, another athlete from Pingyi Special Education School, won gold at the 25th Summer Deaf‑Olympic Games. Up to now, athletes cultivated in Pingyi have obtained 19 gold medals at national‑level and above events.
