Linyi No 4 high‑school students win consecutive championship at world robot contest finals

Students from Linyi No 4 High School claimed the championship in the brain‑computer interface (future‑mars) category at the finals of the 2026 World Robot Contest, successfully defending their title and writing a new chapter for local youth science‑and‑technology education.

Hosted by the China Electronics Institute, the World Robot Contest is listed on the Ministry of Education white list of competitions and is known as the “olympics of robotics”. This year’s finals were held alongside the 2026 World Robot Congress in Beijing, attracting over 17,000 teenage participants from 26 countries and regions.

The brain‑computer interface event integrates artificial intelligence, robot engineering, programming algorithms and teamwork. It poses high requirements for mechanical assembly, on‑site debugging and quick response under changing match conditions.

During the competition, team members of Linyi No 4 High School stayed calm. They inspected robot structures, iterated program codes and adjusted competitive tactics in multiple knockout rounds. With solid technical reserves, the team overcame pressure and secured the championship for the second straight year.

After award ceremonies, contestants visited exhibition zones of the World Robot Congress. They observed cutting‑edge humanoid robots and smart equipment, exchanged ideas with outstanding young tech talents nationwide and broadened their global vision of innovation.

The remarkable achievement comes from long‑term after‑school training. Students spent weekends and spare time polishing mechanical frameworks and running thousands of program simulations. Teacher Lü Haitao provided whole‑process tutoring, guiding teenagers to accumulate practical experience through trial‑and‑error practice.

As one of Shandong's first pilot schools for artificial‑intelligence education, Linyi No 4 High School has built AI laboratories and practical‑training platforms.
