“Walk across Mengshan and Yishui” mass mountain‑hiking autumn‑harvest event held in Yinan

The 2026 Linyi “Walk across Mengshan and Yishui” ten‑thousand‑person mountain‑hiking & autumn‑harvest themed activity (Yinan Station) was successfully hosted at Hongsao Hometown Tourism Area, Yinan County on September 13. The event combines mass fitness, red‑culture inheritance and autumn rural‑tourism experience, attracting more than 2,000 outdoor‑sports enthusiasts from across the city.

Organized by Linyi Sports Federation, Linyi Mountaineering Association and local Yinan authorities, the hiking route follows the well‑known “Retrace the army‑supporting supply routes” trail. This themed route reproduces the historical paths used by local villagers to deliver grain and materials for revolutionary armies during wartime. Participants walk along mountain roads, country lanes and red‑culture sites, experiencing history through physical movement.

Before departure, all participants completed safety briefings and signed risk‑acknowledgement forms. Each contestant received a participant package containing drinking water, red‑silk ribbon, event manual and a commemorative medal for finishers. The hiking distance is moderate and family‑friendly, suitable for teenagers, middle‑aged participants and senior outdoor lovers alike.

Along the route, check‑points are set up at characteristic landscape spots and revolutionary‑heritage locations. Volunteers provide directional guidance, emergency‑first‑aid support and waste‑collection services. After completing the hike, participants can extend their day‑trip experience by visiting surrounding rural orchards for autumn fruit‑picking, enjoying local farmhouse dishes and exploring red‑cultural exhibition halls in Hongsao Hometown scenic zone.

This event is one signature mass‑sports project under Linyi’s integrated “sports plus culture‑tourism” strategy. Building on post‑the Games tourism dividends after The 26th Shandong Province Sports Games, Linyi continues to launch seasonal mass‑sport events, driving growth for rural homestays, catering and agro‑tourism consumption in mountain counties.
