Nearly 100 Linyi teens write scroll of The Analects at Confucius Temple

Nearly 100 teenagers from Linyi in East China's Shandong province gathered at the Linyi Confucius Temple on Sept 28 to jointly write a long scroll of The Analects.

Dressed in traditional Hanfu, the participants — known locally as "Langya youths" after the city's ancient name — studied Confucian rites, recited classic texts and practiced calligraphy inside the centuries-old temple complex, experiencing the essence of Confucian thought and the art of Chinese calligraphy.

The activity is part of Linyi's ongoing efforts to promote fine traditional Chinese culture among young people, combining the city's calligraphy heritage with Confucian learning. Linyi is known as the Hometown of Calligrapher Sage Wang Xizhi and has been designated a China Calligraphy City.
