Linyi holds calligraphy event to mark National Day

A National Day-themed calligraphy gathering and exhibition was held at the Linyi municipal government service center on the afternoon of Sept 29 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The event, titled "Ode to the Motherland, Love for Yimeng," was jointly organized by the Working Committee for Municipal Departments Directly under the CPC Linyi Municipal Committee, the Communist Youth League Linyi committee, the Linyi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Linyi administrative approval service bureau. More than 30 calligraphers and calligraphy enthusiasts from municipal departments took part.

The artists created more than 80 National Day-themed works on site for exhibition, and in an interactive session wrote and presented close to 1,000 pieces to members of the public on request.

The gathering was part of the "United Under the Banner of the Party" series and served as a special session for municipal departments of the 6th Public Calligraphy Conference under the 22nd Calligrapher Sage Culture Festival of Linyi, themed "Revisiting Preface to the Orchid Pavilion Collection." Through the art of calligraphy, the event reviewed China's revolutionary history, extended blessings to the country, celebrated the Yimeng region and brought cultural benefits to the public.

The works will remain on display until the end of October.
