Linyi rolls out cultural tourism lineup, perks for National Day holiday

Linyi in East China's Shandong province launched its "Visit Yimeng to Enjoy Autumn" autumn campaign for the National Day holiday, rolling out themed products, festive events and support measures across product supply, event organization, cultural services and holiday services, aiming to turn performance-driven traffic into stays for tourism and consumption.

Two major concerts kicked off the campaign. The Linyi stop of Li Ronghao's tour will be held at the Linyi Olympic Sports Park stadium on Oct 5 and 6, with about 40,000 spectators expected per show. Stage equipment entered the venue on Sept 27 and was scheduled for completion by Oct 3, with rehearsals on Oct 4. Aaron Kwok's ICONIC world tour will take place at the park's gymnasium on Oct 10 for about 10,000 spectators, closing the domestic leg of the tour and marking his first solo concert in Shandong.

To extend the performance economy and improve the experience of concertgoers, the Linyi culture and tourism bureau has mobilized businesses in scenic areas, accommodation, dining, shopping and entertainment to offer a package of ticket-stub benefits. Around 20 businesses near the Olympic Sports Center have rolled out value packages, discounts and gifts, with some extending business hours to 2 am. Thirty-four scenic areas, including the Guimeng, Yunmeng and Tianmeng areas of Mengshan, the Shuiyun Langya tourism area and the Yishui Underground Grand Canyon, plus 13 hotels and guesthouses, are offering free admission, half-price tickets and other discounts to ticket holders.

Linyi has also designed five themed travel routes combining performances, scenic areas and cuisine, covering urban performances, revolutionary-themed performances, mountain-and-water performances, rural leisure and a panoramic Yimeng tour.

Major scenic areas are staging themed events, including mountaineering performances, autumn family activities and chestnut-drying displays at the three Mengshan areas, and National Day celebrations, hot spring holidays, harvest festivals, night tours and hanfu garden tours at other sites. Linyi Zoo, the Qiyang Polar Ocean Kingdom and the Qiyang Ice and Snow Kingdom jointly launched the "Qiyang Golden Autumn Season."

Discounts are being offered on several projects from Sept 28 to Oct 7, including river cruises and tower visits at 15 percent off. The Lanling National Agricultural Park cut its ticket price from 38 yuan to 30 yuan per person from Sept 20 to Oct 7, and the Daigu landform tourism area launched online group discounts from Oct 1 to 8. Several other sites have rolled out reduced tickets or package deals.

The city's museums and art venues are hosting exhibitions, including art, calligraphy and folk art shows at the Li Xiang Art Museum, the municipal art museum and the Wang Xizhi Former Residence, and themed exhibitions on pomegranate culture, horse culture, digital art and rubbings at the municipal museum and the Linyi Confucius Temple.

Linyi said it will strengthen market oversight and safety inspections, improve service quality, streamline reception procedures and keep complaint channels open to ensure a safe, comfortable, convenient and civilized holiday tourism environment.
