Civility adds to Linyi's holiday appeal as visitors vow to return

Linyi's cultural tourism market continued to heat up over the National Day holiday, with visitor numbers at Langya Ancient City, the Wang Xizhi Former Residence and the Lishanjian scenic area in Fei county reaching new highs. What moved visitors more than the scenery were the orderly, courteous scenes among the crowds.

The Lishanjian scenic area drew attention with its cliffside attractions, offering visitors light-and-shadow walkways, roaming costumed performers, a cliffside cafe and bonfire parties. "The night view was stunning, the seating had an exotic feel, and the experience was excellent," said a visitor surnamed Liu from Jiangsu. In the crowds, people lined up willingly and made way for one another, stepping aside so others could take photographs — civility that required no prompting.

At the Yunmengshan scenic area, hikers moved up the trails in groups, giving way on narrow sections and bagging their own litter. Rest seats along the route allowed people to take turns resting, exchanging nods as they passed. "Climbing is tiring, but the whole way was pleasant. People ahead reminded those behind to watch the steps — it felt really warm," said a visitor named Zhang from Jinan.

True highlights lie not only in mountains, rivers and lakes but also in the small courtesies of travel. At the Wang Xizhi Former Residence, white geese gliding, resting on one leg or preening their feathers by the ink-washing pool quickly became visitor favorites, drawing gentle onlookers and photographers, with no one feeding or disturbing them. "I visited many places in Linyi over the past few days. Every scenic area has its own character, and today at the Wang Xizhi Former Residence it feels like a garden in the south. I hope to come back to Linyi," said a visitor surnamed Sun.

Linyi is drawing growing numbers of visitors with its landscapes, culture and increasingly civilized travel atmosphere. The courteous behavior of each visitor is becoming the city's most moving scenery.
