Lanling town in Lanling county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, has launched the fourth edition of its "Golden Autumn Reading Season and Book Carnival" reading month, drawing on local cultural resources to match the reading needs of different groups.

The program makes use of platforms including civilization practice sites in the new era, rural libraries, school reading rooms and the Xunzi Culture Park. Government officials take part in reading exchanges and seminars to improve their capability through learning. Volunteers use rural libraries to recommend good books and organize reading activities during the farming off-season, drawing villagers to learn agricultural techniques and science.

For young people, the town has organized classic recitation, red-themed reading, study tours and parent-child reading, integrating Xunzi culture and local revolutionary stories into reading classes so that students can draw cultural strength and deepen their patriotism.

The town said it will use the reading month as an opportunity to consolidate public reading work, explore local culture, innovate in the format of reading activities and enhance residents' sense of cultural gain, providing spiritual support for cultural-ethical progress and rural revitalization.
