Lizhuang town in Tancheng county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, held a free health clinic themed "Warm Hearts at Chongyang, Health by Your Side" on the morning of Oct 14, bringing quality medical services to older residents' doorsteps.

Medical staff measured blood pressure and blood sugar free of charge for visiting seniors and answered questions on the prevention and treatment of common chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes and joint pain. Traditional Chinese medicine physicians took pulses on site and, in line with autumn health maintenance practices, explained dietary conditioning and acupressure health care. Nursing staff also taught simple senior health exercises step by step and distributed health education pamphlets.

The town said the event offered older residents a health gift for the festival and helped foster a social atmosphere of caring for the elderly. It will continue to hold public-benefit activities to improve health protection for older residents.
