Linyi holds events across the city to mark Chongyang Festival

Communities and districts across Linyi, East China's Shandong province, held a range of events to mark the Chongyang Festival, which falls on Oct 29 this year, honoring older residents.

On Oct 15, Yincheng community in Yinqiaoshan subdistrict, Lanshan district, staged a gala titled "Blooming in Later Years, Warming Silver Age at Chongyang," with older residents writing, directing and performing their own song and dance acts.

On Oct 16, a 2026 Pingyi county Chongyang golden wedding ceremony titled "Carrying Forward Filial Piety, Celebrating Lifelong Love" was held, bringing together 10 couples married for 50 years. Yang Zaixing and Jin Zengqin posed with a vintage bicycle to recall their wedding day five decades earlier.

On Oct 14, the Mengyin county civil affairs bureau and Mengyin subdistrict office, together with a local senior care club, launched a silver-age volunteer service team and a Chongyang public welfare program in Diecui community, combining a showcase of older residents' talents with the distribution of gifts.
