Yimeng Stone Sea, a scenic area in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, has expanded its autumn program with outdoor dining, a deer park and family attractions built around its rock formations.
The signature offering is a hillside clay oven where sweet potatoes, corn and chicken are slow-cooked, served alongside iron-pot chicken stewed over wood fire and cornmeal cakes baked against the pot's rim.
The site also runs a petting area with sika deer that visitors can feed by hand, a playground with slides and climbing structures for children, and a rock formation nicknamed the "Earth QR code" — a natural pattern formed by weathering over geological time.
The additions reflect a wider shift among Linyi's rural attractions toward combining natural scenery with food and family activities to extend visitor stays.
