21st China-ROK hiking exchange opens at Tianmeng Mountain in Linyi

The 21st China-ROK Hiking Exchange Conference opened at the east visitor center of Tianmeng Mountain in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, at 9 am on Oct 20, with hiking groups from China and the Republic of Korea taking part.

A drum performance opened the ceremony. Wu Pengtao, deputy general manager of the Tianmeng scenic area, welcomed the Korean visitors, and a representative of the China-ROK hiking cultural exchange group thanked the host for its arrangements.

Participants then hiked the mountain's autumn trails together. After the walk, the scenic area served local dishes including Yimeng stir-fried chicken, pancakes with scallions, mutton soup and seasonal mountain produce.

Tianmeng Mountain is the birthplace of the Yimeng Mountain Minor, a folk melody widely known in China, and hosts daily staged performances on weekdays and weekends at 10-11 am and 2-3 pm.
