Eleven content creators from Caribbean countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago visited the Former Residence of Wang Xizhi in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, on Oct 22, to try their hand at Chinese calligraphy and explore the city's rich cultural heritage.
Wang Xizhi, a renowned calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), holds an important place in Chinese calligraphy history. His masterpiece, Lanting Xu, or Preface to the Orchid Pavilion, is widely regarded as the finest example of Chinese running script.
As Wang's hometown, Linyi preserves a rich calligraphic heritage. The visit offered the creators an opportunity to connect with Chinese traditional culture through hands-on experiences and discover another dimension to the city's cultural appeal.
