Yimeng Stone Sea, a scenic area in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, is promoting a set of outdoor dining experiences for autumn, built around a clay oven and iron-pot cooking.
The clay oven is used for chicken, sweet potatoes, chestnuts and corn, buried and slow-cooked in heated earth; a separate iron pot simmers chicken over wood fire with cornmeal cakes baked against the rim.
The dining offer sits alongside the site's petting zoo, playground and rock formations, part of a push by Linyi's rural attractions to combine scenery with food and family activities.
