26,000 runners race along Yihe river banks at 2026 Linyi Marathon

The 2026 Linyi Marathon, part of the "Good Luck Shandong" series and the Shandong Marathon League (Linyi station), got underway at Wuzhouhu Square in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, at 7:30 am on Nov 1.

The race featured full marathon and half marathon events, attracting 26,000 runners, about 60 percent of whom came from outside Linyi. Including accompanying family members and friends, visitors from outside the city exceeded 40,000.

Runners set off in staggered waves on a course along both banks of the Yihe river, passing landmarks such as the Binhe park, the Huangshan Dongyi Culture Park and the Linyi TV Tower, showcasing the city's unique landscape where urban life meets the water.
