Daxing village in Daxing town, Linshu county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, has recently built a science popularization corridor to spread scientific knowledge, promote science against cults, and encourage residents to take part in garbage sorting and low-carbon living.

The corridor features display boards on traffic safety, fire prevention, drowning prevention and garbage classification, covering topics ranging from the health benefits of blueberries and the 24 solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar — inscribed on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage lists — to weather forecasting.

The traffic safety board teaches road rules and raises safety awareness; the fire safety board spells out "ten checks and ten prohibitions", ten evacuation tips and "six key points" to remember; the drowning prevention board explains the "four don'ts and one ability" requirement with illustrations of self-rescue methods for primary and middle school students; and the garbage sorting board calls for a tidy home and the inheritance of traditional virtues.

Adjacent to the Meihao fitness square, the corridor allows residents to exercise while learning science at the same time.
