No.6 Middle School of Linyi, East China's Shandong province, recently held the final round of its red song choir contest for the 2026 grade, aiming to foster patriotism among young students and enrich campus culture.

Eight classes advanced to the final after preliminary and semi-final rounds. The contestants performed classic red songs including Ode to the Motherland, We Are the Successors of Communism, Me and My Motherland and Defend the Yellow River, incorporating recitation, hand gestures and formation changes into their chorus performances.

Judges scored the classes on singing quality, stage presence, creativity and teamwork. Class 22 won the first prize, Classes 27 and 6 took the second and third places, and five other classes received special prizes.

Teachers said the contest served as a vivid ideological and political education class, planting the red gene deep in students' hearts through singing classics.
