Qiyang tourism offers free student tickets to six-city families for autumn holiday

Linyi Qiyang Culture and Tourism Group in Linyi, East China's Shandong province, is offering free admission for students at its three theme parks during the autumn school holiday, inviting families from six cities to visit.

From Nov 4 to 22, visitors from Linyi, Zaozhuang, Jining, Rizhao, Xuzhou and Lianyungang who buy one full-price adult ticket can bring one student from grades 1 to 8, or a minor born on or after Sept 1, 2011, into the Linyi Zoo and Botanical Garden, the Qiyang Polar Ocean Kingdom or the Qiyang Ice and Snow Kingdom for free. The offer covers first-gate admission only.

The promotion is rolled out in three phases matching local holiday schedules: Nov 4 to 9 for Rizhao, Zaozhuang and Jining; Nov 13 to 17 for Linyi; and Nov 18 to 22 for Xuzhou and Lianyungang. Students must present a student card, enrollment certificate or household register, while adults must show ID confirming residency in one of the six cities. Each adult may bring one eligible student, and secondary spending inside the parks is not included.

Group visitors also benefit: from Oct 16 to Dec 31, groups of 10 or more visiting the zoo or the ocean kingdom receive free first-gate tickets to the ice and snow kingdom for all members on the same day.

The three parks — an outdoor ecological and animal attraction suited to nature education, a marine park integrating sightseeing and science study, and an indoor all-season ice and snow venue — form a one-stop "animals plus ocean plus ice and snow" short-vacation route.

Industry observers said the autumn holiday creates a window for family travel in November, and waiving first-gate tickets lowers the threshold for family outings while boosting visitor flow and in-park spending.
