Yihe New Area

Yihe New Area is a provincial-level new area of Shandong province in Linyi city. With a planned area of around 496 square kilometers, it was officially established in November 2022, aiming to become a strategic hub aligning with the Yangtze River Delta, a demonstration zone for development in southern Shandong, and a pilot zone for the deep integration of industry and city.

It has earned accolades as a national green industrial park and a provincial pilot zone for green, low-carbon, high-quality development.

Strategically positioned between Beijing and Shanghai, Yihe New Area serves as a sub-center of Linyi city, with an extensive network of high-speed railways and highways, and an airport offering 48 domestic and international routes. It boasts logistics costs some 30 percent lower than the national average.

Benefiting from overlapping policies like the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin and the Huaihai Economic Zone, the new area hosts national platforms such as the Linyi National Economic and Technological Development Zone and the Linyi Comprehensive Free Trade Zone. It enjoys robust policy support for land use, financial subsidies, and technological innovation, with over 80,000 market entities.

With a strong industrial base, Yihe New Area focuses on the development of intelligent manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and optoelectronic new energy, housing leading companies like Volvo Construction Equipment and Gree.

It is a hub of innovation, featuring 107 provincial-level innovation platforms and 228 high-tech enterprises, recognized as a national digital transformation park and a center for industrial collaboration with academia.
