Located at the southeastern edge of Shandong province, Linyi's Linshu county boasts a population of 680,000 and spans 1,010 square kilometers. It is known as the "World Handicraft City" and "Capital of Willow Weaving".

The county is conveniently located: within 100 kilometers of four major ports — Rizhao, Lianyungang, Zhewang, and Lanshan — and within 50 kilometers of two airports, Huaguoshan and Linyi. Additionally, it is near three major highways: the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Shenyang-Haikou Expressway, and Rizhao-Dongming Expressway.

With a history of human habitation dating back over 7,000 years, Linshu has evolved into a modern industrial city, hosting industrial clusters in high-end chemical engineering, high-end equipment manufacturing, and new materials. It has fostered a group of key enterprises, including Kingenta Ecological Engineering Group and Stanley Agricultural Group.

Linshu is the largest and most renowned production base for high-quality fertilizers and willow weaving in China. The county's production and sales of compound fertilizers account for more than 20 percent of the national market share. The county is home to more than 6,600 hectares of willow cultivation area and more than 100 willow weaving enterprises. The export value of willow products accounts for 25 percent of the national total.

Linyi is also a city of innovation, being home to 236 innovation platforms. The county actively engages with the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering international partnerships with cities in Italy, Germany, and Malaysia.
