Lanshan district, where the government of Linyi is located, spans 746 square kilometers and houses a permanent resident population of 1.82 million.

With a history of over 3,000 years, it is the birthplace of cultural figures like Wang Xizhi, a legendary calligrapher and scholar of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), and Yan Zhenqing, an iconic Tang Dynasty (618-907) calligraphy master. It is also home to important ancient sites, including discoveries such as the bamboo slips of The Art of War by Sun Tzu.

Renowned as a logistics hub, Lanshan's strategic location connects many major highways and railways, supporting a thriving logistics industry. It hosts 13 modern logistics parks and 1,738 logistics companies, with a logistics network covering all Chinese cities. The district's logistics costs are 30 percent below the national average, with robust infrastructure supporting multimodal transport and extensive express services.

As a market cluster, Lanshan promotes digital, green, and international commerce through its 100 professional wholesale markets and a vast array of goods. It leads in digital commerce, with around 97,000 merchants engaging in livestreaming e-commerce business on major Chinese social media platforms like Kuaishou and Douyin. The district's proactive engagement in cross-border trade enhances its global market presence.

Industrially, Lanshan is a powerhouse with 460,000 market entities and a strong focus on emerging industries like photovoltaics, energy storage, and new materials. It is a major center for artificial board production, export, and trade, as well as meat processing.

Lanshan's livability is defined by its waterfront environment and strong urban-rural integration, supported by significant investments in public amenities and green spaces.
