The "cultural parenting" trend reached new heights in Linyi over the May Day holiday, as the city's three major museums - the Linyi Museum, the Museum of Bamboo Slips from Yinqueshan Han Dynasty Tomb and the Linyi Confucius Temple - welcomed more than 70,000 visitors.

Among them were nearly 30,000 teenagers, making up 40 percent of the total, who spent their vacation immersed in history. This surge underscores cultural consumption as a main driver of the local holiday economy.

The Museum of Bamboo Slips from Yinqueshan Han Dynasty Tomb stood out as a particularly popular spot, with travelers waiting patiently to explore ancient wisdom. To improve visitor experience, the museum hosted public welfare activities and intangible heritage workshops.

From professional lectures on ancient military tactics and martial arts drills to traditional pastry-making, these interactive sessions offered guests a hands-on historical experience.

Technology added further life to these ancient artifacts. Using high-tech XR panoramic experiences and digital immersion exhibitions, the museum transported visitors back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 220).

Complementing these high-tech displays was a new line of creative cultural products that blend ancient aesthetics with modern design. These items, ranging from artistic stationery to lifestyle accessories, make the rich "bamboo slip culture" accessible to the public.

As the holiday winds down, Linyi's museums have shown that by weaving tradition with innovation, ancient heritage can remain a vibrant and relevant force for new generations.
