Luozhuang International Phalaenopsis Seedling Center: sci-tech breeding boosts flower industry and rural revitalization

As one of Asia’s top three phalaenopsis seedling bases, Luozhuang International Phalaenopsis Seedling Center in Linyi has officially entered preliminary operation, becoming a new benchmark for the high-quality development of local modern agriculture. Invested by Linyi Luokai Holding Group, the project covers 216 mu with a construction area of 120,000 square meters and three intelligent greenhouses, with a designed annual output of 10 million high-quality phalaenopsis seedlings. Two greenhouses have been put into operation and the third is under commissioning. Boasting international-leading automation level, the project keeps improving the whole industrial chain of breeding, production and sales.

To address the insufficient research and development and supply shortage of high-end domestic flower seedlings, the center empowers industrial upgrading through technological innovation. It has obtained exclusive domestic agency rights for more than 200 rare phalaenopsis varieties via cooperation with Anthura from the Netherlands and independently cultivated 400 new varieties with independent intellectual property rights, breaking long-term foreign technological monopolies. Adhering to green and low-carbon development, the project adopts industrial waste heat heating and water-fertilizer recycling technologies, saving 6,000 tons of standard coal and reducing 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.

The project has built a dual-cycle sales system for domestic and overseas markets. A total of 70 percent of its seedlings have passed EU certification and are exported to European countries, while the domestic market adopts production based on sales to ensure stable operation. Upon full operation, the project is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of 130 million yuan and create more than 300 jobs. In the future, the center will continue to strengthen technological research and development, polish the "Luozhuang Intelligent Manufacturing" brand, and fuel comprehensive rural revitalization with modern agricultural technologies.
