Mengyin transforms barren hills into crape myrtle gardens for ecological and economic gains

Mengyin County advances coordinated ecological restoration and industrial revitalization by promoting the local unique Yimeng small-leaf crape myrtle. Featuring dense blossoms, long flowering periods and elegant tree shapes, the species is highly adapted to the Yimeng mountainous area. The county has planted the crape myrtle across 600 mu of barren hills and set up a specialized association to standardize branding and nationwide sales.
