Linyi Trade City boosts global expansion in Shanghai

The Shanghai-Linyi cooperation and Linyi Trade City global expansion symposium convened in Shanghai on Aug 18, aiming to facilitate international trade partnerships.

Bringing together about 40 keyparticipants, the event united prominent figures from international procurement, cross-border e-commerce, global logistics, and trade associations alongside leading Linyi enterprises.

The agenda commenced with promotional videos highlighting Linyi's economic landscape.

Following this, Sun Deshi, vice-mayor of Linyi, delivered the opening remarks, setting a collaborative tone for the conference. Sun emphasized that Shanghai excels in innovation and R&D, while Linyi offers robust industrial applications and conversion capabilities. Noting that the two regions enjoy highly complementary resources, he expressed hopes for deeper cooperation in industry and talent development.

Wu Chuanliang, director of the administrative committeeof Linyi Trade City, then detailed the strategic 2026 high-quality development policies tailored for the Linyi Trade City.

Wu Qilong, a representativeof 1688, Alibaba Group's business-to-business online wholesale trading platform, shared the platform's recent operational performance and digital achievements within Linyi.

Wu noted that Linyi's panel and home-furnishing industrial clusters in Lanshandistrict, Feixiancounty, and Junan county, could leverage the platform to build premium brand matrices.Hardware and labor-protection clusters in Linshu county and Pinyi county hold a dominant national market share with strong export potential. Finally, Wu emphasized that Linyi's prominent trade and logistics hub can partner with 1688 to build an integrated wholesale and retail model.

Representatives fromLinyi's leading foreign trade companies also shared strategic insights into boosting international trade.

This high-level symposium established a robust bridge for trade ecosystem integration, reinforcing Linyi Trade City's commitment to expanding its international footprint and driving sustainable cross-border commercial cooperation.

Experts and delegates gather for the symposium focusing on empowering Linyi Trade City's international trade and global market entry.
