Ahead of the 26th Shandong Province Sports Games, the "Watch the games, tour Linyi, and explore the markets" campaign was unveiled at the China International Food City in Lanshan district, Linyi, Shandong, on Aug 26, in a bid to stimulate commercial activity.
Leveraging the games, Lanshan district — Linyi's commercial hub— has been deepening the integration of commerce, culture, and tourism. Moving beyond its traditional role as a wholesale hub, the district has increased the cultural and tourist appeal of its markets.
Five major markets, including the China International Food City and Huafeng International Clothing City, have been upgraded, featuring intangible cultural heritage performances, photo spots, DIY workshops, and study tour bases.
Provincial games credential holders are entitled to exclusive discounts and access to the "passport stamp" rewards program. Presenting a games ticket offers a 10 to 20 percent discount across the venue, stackable with additional passport coupons for maximum savings.
To improve accessibility, Lanshan district has optimized its bus network. Route 201 connects cultural landmarks like the Museum of Bamboo Slips from Yinqueshan Han Dynasty Tomb and the Former Residence of Wang Xizhi, while Route N5 links food markets to historical sites like Langya Ancient City, creating dedicated tourism routes that bring together ancient culture and contemporary marketplaces.
Athletes and coaches have embraced the opportunity. Boxing coach Cao Guihua noted, "The product categories are incredibly rich — from daily goods to sports equipment — exceeding my expectations".

Linyi's new campaign offers games-related discounts, passport rewards, extended hours, and more convenient parking to attract more shoppers.
