Yihe New Area in Linyi is driving a surge in its biomedical industry, serving as a core carrier for the city's modern medical industrial chain. Currently, the area hosts 28 biomedical enterprises above designated size, generating over 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion) in revenue in 2025.
Focusing on five major tracks — biological products, modern traditional Chinese medicine, novel chemical drugs, medical devices, and pharmaceutical circulation — the area has established a targeted investment map. It operates under a strategic spatial layout featuring a specialized industrial park spanning over 5,200 mu (346 hectares). Fixed-asset investments in pharmaceutical projects in the area reached 1 billion yuan this year.
Innovation remains a cornerstone of this growth. Yihe New Area houses eight provincial-level scientific research platforms, holds 117 drug registration certificates, and features 12 exclusive national varieties. In the first half of the year, industrial chain output value surged 54.84 percent year-on-year, ranking first in the city. Additionally, enterprises implemented 11 technological upgrade projects, completing 500 million yuan in investments for digital and intelligent transformation.
Through a path of clustered integration, chain-based thinking, and innovation-driven development, Yihe New Area continues to strengthen its industrial ecosystem. Moving forward, the area aims to expand its industrial chains, bolster core technologies, and inject robust momentum into the development of the regional health industry.
