Jiaolong town improves rural living environment to lay solid foundation for rural vitalization in Linshu

Jiaolong Town of Linshu County presses forward with comprehensive rural‑human‑settlement improvement campaigns. By combining publicity, mass participation and long‑term management mechanisms, the town realizes transformation from sporadic spot beautification toward all‑round, sustained‑effect rural upgrading, as part of the “Rural vitalization: a view from Linshu” reporting series.

The town has identified three core priorities: clearing rubbish and sundries, rectifying messy living habits and harnessing domestic‑sewage problems. Cadres go down to villages, with Party members taking the lead in renovation work. Villagers are encouraged to take part in environmental upgrading and safeguard their own homeland, forming a governance pattern of “Party‑mass co‑governance and universal participation”.

Infrastructure investment supports tangible changes. Jiaolong town invested 20 million yuan for town‑facility upgrading projects. It completed 68,000 square meters of road hardening, added more than 700 standardized parking spaces, regulated street‑side stalls and demolished illegal billboards. New standardized farmers’ markets and food‑streets were built to balance standardized management and local grassroots vitality.

To avoid the cycle of “renovation followed by relapse”, the town sets up a complete long‑term maintenance system. It clarifies household “three guarantees” responsibilities for house fronts, arranges regular inspections by village cleaners and public‑welfare‑post staff, incorporates environmental requirements into village regulations and folk conventions, and organizes 34 volunteer teams for regular public‑welfare‑environment services.

Clean roadways, green courtyards, cultural squares and painted village murals have become common rural sights. Better living environment not only upgrades rural appearance, but also lifts villagers’sense of happiness and gains, paving the way for integrated development of rural industries, culture and tourism.
