Linyi, renowned as China's engineering machinery city, continues to solidify its leading position in Shandong province. In the first half of this year, the city's high-end engineering equipment industry chain maintained steady development, with 220 above-designated-size enterprises achieving a total industrial output of 24.86 billion yuan ($3.7 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.4 percent.
Leading enterprises account for much of this, with 57 companies exceeding 100 million yuan in output, contributing a combined21.11 billion yuan — 74.2 percent of the chain's total.
The market performance of the city's engineering machinery industry is also impressive: from January to June, Linyi sold 19,700 excavators and 16,600 loaders, up 30.7 percent and up 38.7 percent year-on-year, respectively. Exports of loaders surged 87.1 percent to 6,500 units, showcasing "Made in Linyi" on the global stage.
The smart agricultural machinery sector is also showing strong momentum, with 103 enterprises generating about 6.5 billion yuan in output from January to July, up 11.91 percent year-on-year.
From the Yimeng heartland to the world stage, Linyi is driving its machinery industry toward a high-end, intelligent, and sustainable future through intelligent transformation and digitalization, fueling its rapid ascent towards becoming a trillion-yuan economy.
