Linyi airport expands connectivity during summer travel rush

The 62-day 2026 civil aviation summer travel rush officially concluded on Aug 31. This year's peak season saw high numbers of passengers engaged in student travel, family study tours, tourism, family visits, and business trips.

Linyi International Airport in Shandong focused on expanding its route network and optimizing flight schedules to address changing market demands, ensuring overall safe and smooth operations throughout the period.

To meet the surging demand for tourism, the airport restored the direct Linyi-Xining route and opened a seasonal Linyi-Ordos flight, creating direct air corridors to popular Northwest China destinations. High-frequency business routes to key cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Xi'an were maintained to facilitate regional trade exchanges. International routes continued to operate stably.

Linyi airport strictly upheld safety protocols, implementing a dedicated summer travel plan and strengthening equipment inspections under high-temperature conditions. The airport dynamically opened check-in and security lanes to reduce passenger waiting times and provided comprehensive assistance for unaccompanied minors, elderly passengers, and those with special needs.

Looking ahead, Linyi airport will continue to optimize its route network and enhance service quality, playing a key role as a regional aviation gateway to support local cultural tourism and high-quality economic development.
